I've added "extendsyntax c linter cppcheck" to my .nanorc. When I then run "src/nano src/cut.c" and hit ^T, it seems nothing is happening. Running cppcheck on even a relatively small file like cut.c takes several seconds on my machine. There should be some feedback that a command is actually running.

When typing a space before hitting ^T, nano will ask whether to save the file before linting. If one tries to cancel (expecting the whole linting command to be cancelled), this does not happen, the linting operation goes on regardless. Worse: it does not repaint the two bottom help lines after having received input.

When answering Yes to the saving question and then Cancelling, the linting operation is cancelled. But still: the two bottom help lines are not repainted.

Answering No acts the same as hitting ^C (Cancel).
