I didn't know about the --traditional option. That works perfectly.

Confirmed that "clear all" does not reset the paging state.

Also we already have the --traditional option that disables paging when added to the command line or your Octave shortcut. I think that's enough ways to achieve what you want.

The "more off" setting is not lost when you execute "clear all". At least it is not for me.

If you don't like the default, you can put "more off" in your ~/.octaverc file.

It is great to see the new GUI!
However, I think the default paging for screen output should be active when using the GUI. It is more user-friendly to just scroll with the mouse in the result window than use keystrokes for forward, backward, or quit.

Sure, you can put
at the beginning of your script, but this should be somewhere in the start-up script for GUI and not be lost by a clear all;.
