I don't think this affected me anymore the last time I built mxe-octave, closing.
Changed the priority to low since there is an easy workaround of changing directories to the non-symlinked one. I'm marking as won't fix for the 4.0 release.
I am building mxe-octave in /home/mike/src/mxe-octave, where /home/mike/src is actually a symbolic link to /srv/workspace/mike/src. Some part of the build procedures uses the absolute path of the build area under the cross-tools subdirectory, so mxe-octave/cross-tools/srv/workspace/mike/src/mxe-octave/...
However, if my pwd is /home/mike/src/mxe-octave, there seem to be some parts of the build using pwd and the build fails as it is unable to find cross-tools/home/mike/src/mxe-octave/...
If I cd to /srv/workspace/mike/src/mxe-octave, then everything builds ok.
