Somewhere in the past year this has been fixed. I tried the included sample code and it now works. This was with a development tip from 12/28/14.

I was trying to hack together an implementation of scatteredInterpolant (the matlab function) for octave tonight. I originally tried to use a classdef class, but I ran into the following issue with overriding the subsref function (attaching my implementation of stest.m for reference):

as far as I can tell, my custom subsref is never called. I assume this is a limitation of the fledgling classdef implementation, but I'm not familiar enough with the octave codebase to even begin to know how to improve this, so I'm just posting a bug in the hopes that someone else will eventually get around to taking care of it.
