cellindexmat() is used to index matrices which are inside cell array data containers.  It would be nice if all of the ordinary indexing operators were allowed (numbers, magic colon, 'end').  Currently only numbers and the magic colon are supported.

x = {[1:5]};
cellindexmat (x, "end");
error: cellindexmat: A(I): index out of bounds; value 110 out of bound 5
