Thanks for your help, I installed again octave and the packages and every thing work fine. At the first instalation I didnt extranct the packages at the same folder as octave so that probably caused the problem

Thanks for your bug report. The is_real_vector function is indeed part of the control package and does work with 3.6.4, so this sounds like an installation error. Can you describe exactly how you installed the control package?

when I tried to run function like:
zp2tf,tf
from control package I get error:
error: 'is_real_vector' undefined near line 38 column 15
I am using octave version 3.6.4 for win MinGW
