I do not reproduce this with the current svn in ubutntu 16.04. I guess it was fixed => Closing.
Feel free to reopen if you still experience the problem.

I think I am not the best guy for this problem. I don't know enougth the Qt side of TeXmacs. I add Miguel in the discussion which may have an idea on the subject.

Ok, I reproduced it on svn trunk. I think it's due to the shadow printed around the window.

I have TeXmacs starting as a vertically maximized window in Gnome 3 shell.
I position the TeXmacs window to the left side of the screen.
It seems that the TeXmacs window moves about one pixel right after every restart.
This is a little annoyance as I need to move the window back left.
