I was debugging gcc-4.5.3, and placed a breakpoint on line 1555 of file "gcc/cgraphunit.c". On this line there is a function call "tree_rest_of_compilation (decl));".

For decl I opened "decl->function_decl.common.common.common.common.common.name->identifierid.str". I opened this in the display window with mouse and not by typing. After opening, str variable it was being displayed on the top. I selected it and used "Edit->Copy", this is when ddd hangs.

I am using:
Ubuntu 12.04
