This is now documented in the find manual page in the CVS code.

Regarding
- Action: -fprint file
True; print the full file name into file FILE, followed by a newline. If FILE does not exist when `find' is run, it is created; if it does exist, it is truncated to 0 bytes.

Be sure to mention that it is even created for some reason even if we never reach this rule, e.g mkdir X && find X -name Z -fprint
