Perhaps one message could replace the 2:
"The cube value is x, owned by y"

gnubg is actually quite consistent!

If gnubg writes one line of output from a command, it'll just write it to the status line. If you get two lines of output gnubg shows it in a pop-up.

If you change the cube owner you'll get a message:

gnubg owns the cube

That is, one line only so the message is shown in the status line.

If you change both cube value and cube ownership you get the message:

gnubg owns the cube
the cube value is now 13

That is, two lines so the message is shown in a pop-up.

The only work-around is to open the message window from WIndows->Messages. There is a TODO that suggest some sort of scrolling in the status line to allow for multi-line messages.
