It seems like this bug is still here. I see it on Debian system with grub 2.02~beta2 and lvm2 2.02.111

I didn't reproduce it myself, but the user on the Gentoo bug says it happens with a snapshot of bzr trunk taken yesterday (revno 5086).

LVM2 outputs warning messages when it inherits file descriptors greater than 2. For example:

File descriptor 4 (pipe:[1016827]) leaked on vgs invocation. Parent PID 28778: /usr/sbin/grub2-probe

Two solutions:
1. Close any open files/pipes before executing LVM2 commands
2. Set the LVM_SUPPRESS_FD_WARNINGS environment variable.
