I've the patch ready, it's pending submission. I just want to complete at least one successful octave build before submitting. But I've been plagued by other unrelated minor problems since then. I will submit it soon.

Any change for msvc for this issue?

That worked for me
Ive reattached the dbus patch, patch file renamed to src/qt-2-dbus.patch
Do you want to push the change set when you also update for msvc?

Looks good, but I'd rather have a solution for all systems. So my suggestion would be to move your Qt patch to qt-2-dbus.patch, so it's applied for all systems, then use this additional MXE patch. I've tested it with cross-compile and it seems to work fine. Could you try native MinGW?
I'll adapt my MSVC patch afterwards.

I solved it a different way to MSVC. See:
http://hg.octave.org/mxe-octave/file/d24828818d36/src/msvc-qt-1.patch#l186
Maybe something similar could be done for MinGW as well.

A new patch included that adds dbus-.0 to the include paths instead of removing dbus - trying it now... it will take an hour or so to compile on my machine :)

how about remove as a requirement? :)
I was going to look at the path of pulling the dbus include files - but got called in to work so will have to take a look at doing that later.

To be honest, I don't think it's the right move. D-Bus is marked as a requirement for qt and it is compiled in with cross-compiling, so you would end up with different features when native compiling and cross compiling.

Patch included that removes --dbus-linked from the native mingw build.
(file #28559)
|
Sat 13 Jul 2013 11:32:47 AM UTC, original submission:
With the change to add dbus in native mingw build (--dbus-linked), mingw no longer compiles, failing at trying to find dbus-1.0/dbus/dbus.h include files.
