Thanks, this has been fixed in commit 291ec17 "Initialize data structures early enough" already.

I accidentally used -F=1 as an argument for patch.
This makes patch segfault:

% gdb --args patch -F=1
Reading symbols from /usr/bin/patch...done.
(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/patch -F=1
/usr/bin/patch: **** fuzz factor '=1' is not a number

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
