I have just tested that Launch_Denemo.sh does indeed launch denemo on a Debian Squeeze box with 32-bit processor.

There is a script called Launch_Denemo.sh which you should launch I think. (Double click in a file browser, or execute ./Launch_Denemo.sh at the command line).
OTOH
The README seems to belong to something else, I think it is mistakenly placed here - I'll log a bug about that.

Please download the binary for GNU/Linux from the website
http://denemo.org/downloads/denemo-1.1.2-0.linux-x86.tar.xz
you do not need sudo to use this even! And, of course, Denemo has improved enormously since the 0.9.2 release.

Hello, I installed denemo 0.9.2.-1ubuntu1 from the ubuntu software-center. I have the same problem, the object menu is missing.
Where can I find denemo.desktop?
If I find it, how can I write in it? Do I need a special editor?
In my "filemanager" I find under usr/share/app-install/desktop only GNU Denemo wich starts the program.
I use ubuntu 12.04 LTS since 4 days, so pleace answer not so complicated.
Thanks

A user on the mailing list with this problem wrote:
That's what I did and it worked in case anyone searches for the solution.
cp /usr/share/app-install/desktop/denemo\:denemo.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/
chmod +x denemo\:denemo.desktop
and changed Exec=denemo to Exec=env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 denemo
As this is a Ubuntu distro bug, it should be closed here.

Denemo object menu will appear if this change is made to denemo.desktop.
from
Exec=denemo
to
Exec=env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 denemo
