We don't handle apt actions here.

Normal priority.
Today I ran an apt-get update on Ubuntu 12.04 and I noticed the file /etc/default/grub was overwritten, so I lost all my tweaks.
This update involved a kernel update, which probably caused this problem.
I noticed that there are other people experiencing the same problem.

The grub version I use is:
grub-install (GRUB) 1.99-21ubuntu3

Sorry, I don't know which value in the release field corresponds to this version.

The OS I use is:
Ubuntu 12.04 precise pangolin
