I don't understand the usage of "--delimiter" in the manpage. I guess that values within lines should be split by /delim/ while input records ("lines") are still terminated by \n. But what would be the difference to "--colsep" in this case?

If the assumption above is wrong, what does "This can be used when the input consists of simply newline-separated items" mean? And why would I want to use --null in that case?
