Should be fixed in [6f730374].

Re-open if not fixed.

On a Mac please test:

vmstat 1 2 | awk '{print $7*$8}'

vmstat 1 2 | awk '{print $10*$11}'

While the above are running force the Mac to swap.

The number should stay at 0 if there is no swapping or only swapping in/swapping out. If there is both swapping in AND swapping out the number should be non-zero.

--noswap calls vmstat, which has a different name (vm_stat) on Mac OS X for
some strange reason.

Changing "vmstat" to "vm_stat" in all 3 places it is referenced from seemingly
solves the problem. Otherwise the following error message is reported:

sh: vmstat: command not found
Use of uninitialized value $swap_out in pattern match (m//) at /usr/local/bin/parallel line 2164.
Use of uninitialized value $swap_out in pattern match (m//) at /usr/local/bin/parallel line 2164.
[and several more of those]

> Ole Tange: Are the output columns from vm_stat the same as vmstat?

I've no idea.
