After looking through the sources, it appears that the linear scale default, default_lims(), is being used for logscale axes (i.e. [0 1]).

I was thinking a convenient solution might be ...

But I don't see where this needs to be done.

hmmm ... I did something wrong with the formatting again! :-(

When run as a script, the command in the prior comment produces the output below

The last line is from Gnuplot.
