With the latest code, you can now select network drives. I didn't see any new problems.

I pushed a fix to master.
If we find that it causes more problems than it fixes, I'll revert it.

I think the answer is, that we need to set the "local-only" property on our GtkFileChooser widgets to FALSE.

As I recall, earlier versions of the Gtk docs had a warning about some sort of caveat if this option was enabled, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.

In the MINGW32 build for MSWindows it is not possible to use a UNC path or browse the network as it is usual on MSWindows.

I guess this is a decision from the MINGW builders which is hard to change.

A workaround is to assign the network drives as local drives. However there is 1 report that this doesn't work either, but on my computers it works.
