You will have to wait for a new version or build Octave yourself if you're impatient. The patch went on our development branch, so it will show up in our next major release (3.6) , which should happen in a few months (3-4) according to our current plans.

Thank you -
I'm just a dumb user. :-) Could you tell me what that means for me? Do I have to wait for a new version or do I have to install some other installation file? My version 3.2.4 comes from sourceforge, installer for Windows.

I checked in the following change which seems to fix the problem for me so I'm closing this report.

This seems to be a regression bug introduced between versions 3.0.5 and 3.2.3.

Even more simply: Command-line-completion doesn't work, even if I define the function in the octave-window. The only possibility seems to write a function file foosball.m (without the dummy 1;-line), and to invoke octave again. Then "foos <Tab>" will auto-complete

Hi! I have an .m-File like functions4_foosball.m with the following content:

1;
function foosball()
"Kick! Goal!!"
endfunction

When I execute that file as a command and then type "foos <Tab>" or "foosb <Tab> the commandline interpreter (Octave window) will not complete the command as "foosball". This works fine in 3.0.3 by the way.
