I have implemented these two options with cset aacb9da13df6 and cset adb0ba0d0c13.

There is two problem with setting LoopCount though. The bigger one is that we can't set it like Matlab does (see long comment in the cset http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/aacb9da13df6#l1.7 ), and the other is that we can't set it to loop once (again, see comments on the source http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/aacb9da13df6#l3.23 )

Anyway, we are dependent of this being fixed in GraphicsMagick or we change library for image IO.

I don't think we can support this easily soon, since it seems to depend on the underlying support that imagemagick can give us, but more distressing, these commands segfault my build at cset :

Whether we support it or not, we certainly shouldn't be segfaulting.

Here is the top of my stack trace:

Same answer for any other volunteer-drive project: when it's ready, sooner if you help. If it's easier for you to state that your package doesn't work with Octave than to help us fix Octave, go ahead.

How long might it take to get a response and/or fix on this bug report? If it is not addressed promptly we may have to drop octave support for the image segmentation package found here:

in Cygwin 1.7.9 (a recent fresh install including Octave-3.4.0 and GraphicMagick-1.3.12)

In MATLAB(7.10.0.499 (R2010a)), when calling imwrite the following type of call is supported:

is supported for writing multiframe gifs, and specifying the timing between frames and the number of loops for the resulting file. Could this functionality be supported for Octave as well?
