I've done this, in git.
I have changed the display text to be the inserted LilyPond, I guess that is ok.

It occurs to me that we already have what is needed to create a tag from a given postfix field (or any other text) - we are using it for thumbnail names.
I propose to create d-GetMd5String which takes a string and returns a string which (to all intents and purposes) will be unique for the given string.

d-InsertStandaloneDirective command gets a chunk of LilyPond from the user and creates a standalone directive. It uses the chunk itself as the tag for this directive, which causes failures when this tag is read by the scheme reader. A tag should be conservatively named, so that it can be used freely (e.g. as a command name - hence filename in any supported file system), alphanumeric and underscore would be good.
