Judging from reporter silnce it seems that accepting the mdraid names is good enough

Names were never removed. They are still available just not used anymore since it created many problems due to their instability. It's still accepted in config files though.

Hello,

with 1.99~rc2 grub changed the identification of RAID arrays from names away to UUIDs.

It would be great to have an (optional) opportunity to use names instead again. Names (especially mdraid ones) have a bigger chance to remain stable when RAIDs are re-created, etc.

At other places grub offers an opportunity to get rid of UUIDs, like with GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID in the linux grub.d shell-script snippets.

Thanks for your work & regards
Mario
