I've installed Octave-3.4.2 from SourceForge on Win7. To support printing, I also needed to install Ghostscript, and modified the EXEC_PATH at Octave's command prompt.

Running Octave (non-GUI) and using both the fltk and gnuplot graphics toolkits, I'm able to "print -depslatex test.tex".

If someone can confirm, it looks like this isn't a bug.

Printed output using the formats below currently have a pipe connect to the DOS command "copy con ...".

  1. "epslatex"
  2. "pslatex"
  3. "pdflatex"
  4. "epslatexstandalone"
  5. "pslatexstandalone"
  6. "pdflatexstandalone"

Unfortunately, the pipe to "copy ..." doesn't work. In other places a pipe was connected to ghostscript (i.e. eps file in and eps file out). This approach is rather ugly.

What is the proper way to initiate a pipe under DOS.
