Thu 06 Jan 2011 04:42:05 PM UTC, original submission:

The lookup function recently dropped support for the case insensitive option in changeset 30f54b3b9953. However the input validation routine silently accepts all unknown options without producing an error or warning. Thus, scripts which uses the 'i' option will not have any indication that the underlying functionality has changed because 'i' is still accepted. This can happen even to the Octave code base where optimset, despite having been configured to work with the new code, was still passing the 'i' option. See changeset 48cb431db87b.
