I've tagged this as a duplicate of 30477 where we have discussed this in the past. I've still not been able to reproduce this problem.

I should have added a couple of items:
1. My system is Fedora 14 x86_64
2. The gdb run was done with a recent 3.3.53+
but the same hang happens with the current
development 3.3.54+

Also, in my experience there is something special
about "help legend" as the first use of help. If
other uses of help are run first then I have not
found a way to cause a hang.

Under certain conditions Octave hangs when processing help
commands. This is a dead hang requiring a kill process
to clear it.

I feel that this should be given high priority before the
coming release.

See the attached file showing the result of running under
gdb.

I thought that this had been reported before, but could not
find it in the bug tracker.
