I pushed the original, rather than the fixed version. Its been fixed.

I'm unfamiliar with the c++ sources, but it looks to me like this is a trivial bug. I've attached a changeset, but will wait for confirmation from someone with a better understanding before pushing it.

Testing would be appreciated.

In the following simple case:

plot(0);
text(-1,0,'x');

octave autoscales the plot after the 2nd command (unlike matlab).
A rescaling of axes should, however, depend solely on data and not on text.
