I forgot that selecting works from two directions. The original bug report was for "from left to right" selections.

To truly solve this there needs to be a hint both on the left barline and on the right barline of the empty measure, so that the user really sees that the emtpy measure is selected.

Selecting an empty measure results in the selection drawn too far in the next measure. If there is an object it looks like the object is selected (the colour does not matter for this impression). Of more correct: If you select the appending position in an empty measure.

I guess this was done to show how far the selection goes and includes a barline but the current situation is more confusing than helpful.

I think it is important to show that the empty measure is selected but it should not be done by selecting something thats looks like the next measure. Maybe the blue selection can be drawn to the left of the barline instead of to the right?
