This issue has already been corrected in the development code. To access it you will need to build octave from source which is available here: http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/download.html.

Running Debian Lenny, compiled octave 3.2.4 from sources obtained from debian testing, gnuplot 4.5.0 was compiled from original sources.

Problem: ginput works for normal 2D plots, but fails for images produced for example using 'imagesc'.

Example:

octave:1> plot([1:10]);
octave:2> [x,y]=ginput(1)
x = 5.2474
y = 5.1214

This works as should.

octave:3> A=eye(10);imagesc(A);
octave:4> [x,y]=ginput(1)
x = 0
y = 0

octave returns zeros regardless on where the image is clicked.
