I see, it is better to drop it completely. Thanks for your report, I have committed a patch that removes the example.

Still wrong, because if --tries=11 Wget will wait up to (1 + 2 + ... + 10 + 10) = 65 seconds.

--waitretry is just an upper limit for the increasing wait time between retries. As it does not limit the number of tries, we can't say anything about the total wait time per file.

Therefore, a value of 10 can actually make Wget wait up to (1 + 2 + ... + 10) = 55 seconds per file.

This is just wrong, except in the (rare) case when the number of retries equals waitretry by coincidence. I'd recommend simply dropping that sentence.
