Ok, I will try version from CVS with --enable-renderer=agg option and post the results.

You said that opengl renderer is poor, and you offered at all not to use it? Even if accelerated graphics installed? Also, please tell your opinion about cairo renderer and --enable-hwaccel flag. Thanks.

I think this is fixed in trunk: it comes from failing to set the correct default renderer string when opengl is the default renderer.

For valgrind reports it's useful to compile without jemalloc, because that makes a right mess of them (in case you have other problems).

The opengl renderer is quite poor. I would recommend using agg.

What happens with just "gnash -h" ?

We need a backtrace or a valgrind report to help much with this:

gdb --args gtk-gnash -v <file.swf>

or

valgrind gtk-gnash -v <file.swf>

sorry for I accidentally send empty report; description is here:

Hello, gnash team,

I tried to compile custom build of newer gnash v0.8.8. The compilation was successfully (see config.log in attachments), but when I tried to play any .swf file I don't got nothing except segfaults:

user@lenovo-laptop:~$ gnash -v /home/user/gnash-0.8.8/testsuite/media/green.swf
Segmentation fault

user@lenovo-laptop:~$ gnash -v http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~ywid062/pf/toy.swf
Segmentation fault

user@lenovo-laptop:~$ gnash -v http://www.gibneyspub.com/images/pacman-flash.swf
Segmentation fault

etc...
