Closing issue. Bug appears to be misunderstanding in function usage and no response to request for additional info after 1 month.

I think Maartens' initial experience is due to how Octave/Matlab automatically scale the color axis.

Different plots with different clim properties will result in different colors for the same scalar color value.

By specifying the color as RGB the effect of the clim property is eliminated.

Shall this ticket be closed?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Could you give a short self contained example of a piece of code demonstrating your problem?

Does something like

patch (...,"cdatamapping","direct")

help the issue?

Hi again,

in the mean time I figured out that giving an RGB vector as argument in the patch function leads to the same color in all situations.

For my purpose this is sufficient.

Thanks,
Maarten

Hi,

recently I used the patch plot function within octave and I faced the following:

In Octave I made a custom colormap with jet(12) and assigned color numbers to polygons with the patch command. For different plots but the same color numbers I got different colors in my plots.

The reason is in file _go_draw_axes_.m, line 623-626. There, a new color assignment is calculated depending on the color number range.

From the kind of my application it would be good to get the same colors for the same color numbers.

Cheers,
Maarten
