ok ... if I hadn't attached the plots, I would assume that I imagined this.

I looked again today, and get consistent results with Matlab (the Matlab plot is different than what I attached a few days ago).

I'll ignore the mystery of my error and close this ;-)

I noticed this problem when running `demo ("hold", 2)'

Currently the image produced by ...

imagesc(1./hilb(4))

... is flipped vertically as compared to Matlab. I've attached PDFs produced via the Gnuplot backend and Matlab.
