I've converted Marco's patch to a changeset and attached it.

opps! ... I should have double checked my work. I took a second look and found that Marco's patch does work.

I tested Marco's patch. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I got the same behavior.

Probably a better fix is the enclosed one.

I was able to fix the problem with the enclosed patch. Not sure it is the optimal solution, though.
Cheers,

Dear all,
if I give
m = 20:27
semilogy (m, exp (-m.^2))
everithing is fine. But, with
m = 19:27
semilogy (m, exp (-m.^2))
I get
line 0: y range must be greater than 0 for log scale
Is it a gnuplot (I'm using 4.4.0) or octave problem?
Marco
