It works for me. But it does take a very long time to complete > 10mins on my laptop. During this time the GUI is unreponsive.

Concurrent GUI and engine operation is the subject of bug #20823

Obviously importing a xml file is not a sensible operation.

I found a bug, related with importing textual data by slash spacers. You can try import /usr/local/share/doc/pspp/pspp.xml by just clicking „Next“. After last confirmation button, the program do not respond. Tested with 0.7.5-g6ccced.
