Note that section of the manual specifically mentions that not all predefined variables are documented.

However, I've added those variables to the table.

Sorry, the subject line was meant to read "$(LDLIBS) used by implicit linking rule", i.e, LDLIBS instead of LDFLAGS.

Hi,

accordding to the GNU make manual in section "10.2 Catalogue of Implicit Rules" [1] the ‘$(CC) $(LDFLAGS) n.o $(LOADLIBES) $(LDLIBS)’ recipe is used linking a single object file. This recipe contains the variables $(LOADLIBES) and $(LDLIBS), but they are not documented in the next section "10.3 Variables Used by Implicit Rules". This is confusing and has caused my some reasearch to actually understand an upstream Makefile. Please add descriptions for these variables in the appropriate section.
