Yes, both the .screenrc in ~ and the .screenrc in the fuse mount have uid 1000.

Hello MM,

do you have a different user id here and there?
Screen would only take your screenrc, if its owner is identical with screen's own UID. (or EUID?)

I am trying to load a screen configuration file from inside a sshfs fuse mount. The file exists:

$ ls -l /home/user/mnt/.screenrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 user user 220 Aug 16 11:02 home/user/mnt/.screenrc

but screen says it cannot open it:

$ screen -c /home/user/mnt/.screenrc
Unable to open "/home/user/mnt/.screenrc".
