Fixed in changeset 10857:e540bda7ca0d.

The warnings now reflect the actual configure behavior which is not to build native graphics if the appropriate font libraries are not present.

While trying to configure octave to build with native graphics, I found this error confusing (fontconfig development headers were not installed):

The message suggests to me that lack of fontconfig will not prevent native graphics from building and that some other library is missing. However, installing libfontconfig1-dev (Ubuntu 10.4) is in fact the only action needed.

Repeat by:

Remove libfontconfig1-dev and run ./configure, native graphics will be disabled. Reinstall libfontconfig1-dev and run ./configure, native graphics will be enabled.
