Thank you! I'll have more suggestions soon. (I noticed, by the way, that the bold version of this final sigma does not rise above the line as does the medium weight one.)

Steve,

I'll have a look at it.

Please don't hesitate to make any suggestions you like. (That's what the Severity field is for).

First, thank you so much for the excellent font. I have recently moved to Linux and was in need of a Unicode font with Openoffice Writer for my work which requires a good Greek font. FreeSerif is a terrific option for this.

May I suggest that character 0x03C2 (962) in the Unicode "Greek and Coptic" character area ("Greek small letter final sigma") could be reduced in height to be the same height as medial sigma (0x03C3) or omicron (0x3BF). As it stands, the final sigma is about 40 units heigher than these other characters in FontForge. I'm not sure I've ever seen final sigma rise above the line like that before. Perhaps it is a distinctive "flair" of the font creator, but is looks unusual to me I'm afraid.

There are a few other suggestions I could make for the Greek character set as well, but these must be seen as personal taste and not criticisms of this excellent font! I created a Windows Greek symbol font back in the 1990s which was used in some publications. While I am not a font expert per se, and I am new to FontForge, I have reduced the height of the final sigma for myself and I would be happy to send my suggested tweaks along with some other ideas if you wish.

Thank you again!
