I believe that all the specific problems have been addressed, so I'm closing this bug.

OK. I added a "configure" check for glib-genmarshal. Thank you for the rpot. Please let me know if you find other problems.

I found 1 again:

On the build machine, glib2-devel is needed for glib-genmarshal. This is not found by configure.

Yes.

Yes, I know how to configure an Autoconf-based project for cross-compiling. Often it works just fine "out of the box".

What I don't see here is an actual bug report. What does PSPP do wrong? Can you be specific?

How can the build system know what is on the target machine? I don't understand what you expect the build system to do here.

While configuring for building PSPP the system doesn't check the right packages for cross-compiling. When cross-compiling there is a difference between the situation on the local machine and the target machine. This seems not to be handled that way. For instance readln is needed on the target, but the system doesn't complain if it is on the local machine but not on the target.

Perl is needed on the local machine but is not reported as a problem, but this might be an unrelated issue.

I guess this report is a lot of work and solving it won't make much people happy. So consider this as a reminder.
