CMOS isn't BIOS. CMOS is just 128 or 256-byte storage device used by BIOS to hold the configuration. Now GRUB has own USB drivers activated by adding following to grub.cfg:
insmod uhci
or
insmod ohci
depending on your mobo. It's not enabled by default since it can make some harm too if BIOS drivers worked fine. If GRUB USB drivers don't work correctly for you please reopen this bug, or better file a new one since context changed.

It seems that none of the boot loaders work. The only way I have managed to get the wireless items to work is by enabling "USB Devices" then in the drop down menu selecting "USB Keyboard 'Legacy' Support" in CMOS. I hope this helps anyone else for a work around as well. If your CMOS (Motherboard Bios) doesn't have legacy support than this is still a serious issue.

Maybe you can check some other bootloader, like the one from Windows or LILO or so?
Probable your keyboard isn't usable at any of them.

But we provide USB modules.
Check with lsmod or lspci if you have an UHCI or OHCI controller and then try in grub.cfg:
insmod uhci (or ohci)
insmod usb_keyboard
terminal_input usb_keyboard

Hello,
I am submitting this bug because I am unable to use the grub bootloader with my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 pack containing wireless mouse and keyboard. It works in CMOS as well as on the two distros I have installed, however, not at grub boot.

Please inform me if a fix becomes available.
