related issue is if you insert a file into a new buffer (CTRL+R), you see the closecode output but it doesnt get cleared, and it forces all output up a line. forcing a refresh (CTRL+L) seems to fix the display issue.

(This bug was submitted by pabs in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=551716)

When opening multiple files from the command line, I get the following
pattern briefly show up before nano switches to the first file. This
happens when files are listed on the command-line, but not when
directories are listed. There is usually a small delay between each
"Closecode = -1" showing up on the screen.

Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
Closecode = -1
