I can't reproduce this behavior on master (on Linux), so I am closing this bug.

Michel, if you can reproduce this with one of Harry Thijssen's Windows builds, please reopen it with details.

This was supposed to have been fixed back in March.

Check that your build includes commit 2e18bd3453a1f225103bf8d75ef3c4493ad301c5

and that it uses a recent copy of gnulib.

An windows user send my two files. The first one was created and filled on SPSS. She opens this file on PSPP, filled some more cases and then save it.

Now it just doesn't opens neither on PSPP or SPSS. She is using PSPP 0.7.2, made from master branch on 2009-05-18.

Is there a way to figure out what happens and recovery the file for her?
