The 1016 build still has the problem. I loaded the match, went to the position prior to the cube, replayed the move and was cubed instantly.

In the attached game file gnubg cubed me when losing in a no contact race. See game 4 move 21. It evidently did this without performing any analysis, there is no analysis in the file and the cube was turned instantly rather than the more usual ~30 seconds.
