Windows builds using MinGW + MSYS are currently working (or would be if I'd remembered to merge in the relevant changes I'd made), but there are still significant problems in trying to get a Wget build that has openssl (for https support) and libidn/libiconv (for IRI support). Part of this is because building libidn doesn't work as cleanly as it might, and the openssl that is most easily obtained for MSYS lacks the seed-from-screen feature that we rely upon for Windows.

Wget's configure.ac also currently hard-codes "-lwsock32", so it doesn't properly handle static links to wsock32.

In addition, if modifications are needed to the official sources for Wget's dependents, before they can be built on MinGW + MSYS, we should identify those modifications so users can make necessary adjustments; we should also supply official MinGW builds of Wget (they should not require MinGW, or anything else, aside from perhaps the root CA certificates).
