You can close this and the one its a duplicate of. I'm still getting other errors but I think this one was caused because the usb drive I was using was 32 sectors/track. I didn't even know that could be an issue.

This is probably totally not okay, but I just posted a stupid error I had on svn update and someone immediately responded, so I thought I'd bump this since I've been having this issue since early July.

#sbin/grub-install /dev/sdb --root-directory=/media/usb0
grub-setup: warn: Your embedding area is unusually small. core.img won't fit in it.
grub-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and its use is discouraged.
grub-setup: error: If you really want blocklists, use --force.

There's additional comments on the other bug. If this isn't okay, feel free to just close this bug.
