this feature will be part of the next wget release. It is already in the development version.

this bug report includes a patch but I cannot (or maybe don't know) mark "Patch Included: Yes".

Maybe you/someone cann mark/apply it so it will not be forgotten.

As non-200 page contents could not be handled by wget, it is not possible to use this program for testing SOAP, because SOAP Fault Responses always return HTTP code 500 (Internal Server Error)

I've written a patch that causes wget to also download error pages (404, etc) as normal, as well as displaying the error on the command line. This has been tested with 404's and normal web pages. Please let me know if you have any comments/suggestions, or if I missed anything that should be don by removing the code path I did.
