Eventually this is a graphics driver issue and there is not too much we can do about it.

When using the 3D view combined with a board size larger than approximately 500 pixels (x or y) the redraw of the board will not completely remove the chequers (traces left) after moving them (see attached screen shot).

I use an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440SE with AGP8X together with the newest available display driver.

The effect does not appear when switching off all graphics hardware acceleration - but then the program is extremely slow, which makes playing nearly impossible.
