I think 6a9b2147844e461515f7cfcea818df297946b63d will fix this crash.

It might make more sense to make sure argl has the correct values before calling to DoAction. If you still have the backtrace, do you know which call to DoAction is causing the problem?

It appears that on the second-time-round call to digraphs, argl is still non-NULL and has its previous values of "2" and "1"; but args is NULL. It looks like we shouldn't be relying on argl to have sane values until we know that args has corresponding arguments for those, first (and other RC_* handlers appear to use args, rather than argl, to check for whether there are arguments).

Hm; I'm using the same revision, and yes, I was testing with -c /dev/null. I blew away my install, did a git clean -fX, and rebuilt/reinstalled; still seeing it.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10, LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LANGUAGE=en
I'll try to get it to dump core and have a closer look.

I can't seem to reproduce this crash with 230855a865ab209b9784ad3ecba8675d3df5ac32, starting screen with -c /dev/null
Are you using a .screenrc file?

Using the new "second argument", assignability feature of digraph interactively, causes any further invocations of digraph (of any sort) to crash screen.
To reproduce:
- start up screen
- C-a : digraph aa a <RET>
- C-a : digraph <RET>
