Glyphs for the alternate

quarter rest,
pedal mark

as well as historical forms for

c_clef,
f_clef

and the various

articulartion marks

are now included in the font. Lookup tables link them as alternate and/or historical forms.

In principle, software applications should be able to present these to the user as optional representation of those characters,
but I have never seen this happen, personally.

(For Kim Bastin)

"There is an alternate form of 1d13d (quarter rest), resembling a backwards 1d13e, which is no longer used in printing music but occasionally needs to be mentioned (if only to deprecate it! or to note that it has been used by a copyist or in an edition). Could it be made available through an Opentype tag?

For 1d1ae there is also an alternate, simpler form resembling a blackletter P. Although the two forms are synonymous, they are not 'the same', and one needs tobe able to refer to one or the other."
